Short Term Missions OpportunitiesPlans are now being made for several future trips.  In late October or November, an additional trip to Kentucky is being planned.  Plans include assisting with meal distributions, visitations/encouragement, preparation for the Christmas distribution program, meal deliveries, etc.  In addition, plans are now being laid for a return trip to Haiti in February 2018.  Please contact Ed Kauffman for additional details or to express interest.

Congregational MeetingThe Elder Board and Search Committee are pleased to present Bob Marsh as a candidate for Director of Adult Ministries.  There will be a congregational meeting to vote on Bob on Sunday, August 13th during the beginning of the ABF hour.  All members are urged to attend.

Children’s Ministries RegistrationIt is that time again to prepare for our 2017-2018 Children’s Ministries year.  We ask each year that you please fill out an updated children’s ministries registration form so that we can be sure to have all the important updated information on your child.  We also will have a photo permission form to be filled out.  Forms will be located on a table in the children’s wing.  Thank you!

Nursery Volunteers NeededNursery volunteers are needed for the Sunday School hour and/or the 11:00 Worship hour.  A volunteer is scheduled for one hour each month.  For example, it may be the first Sunday during the Sunday School hour or the third Sunday during the 11:00 Worship hour.  The new schedule begins in September and ends in August.  If you are interested in helping, please call Karen Quay at 248-9595.  If you are already on the schedule and would like to change your time, please contact Karen.  She will need this information no later than August 21, 2017.  Thanks!

In Touch Devotionals for the month of August and In Touch Magazine for July/August are available in the front foyer.

The Flowers on the platform are given today by Jeff & Cindy Lash in honor of our children and grandchildren.

Missionary Prayer & Praise Requests

  • Pray for Ray with continued health needs (heart & kidney stones).
  • Pray for rain; have had several serious prairie fires during the drought.  Need rain to reduce the threat of fire and that there will be some grazing available for the cattle before entering into the winter.
  • Pray for finances. Experienced a significant decrease in financial support this year.
